Our History

Our History

Innovative Vision Organisation was established by a group of Africans living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. The aim is to provide care , support , information and advice to African communities. However, IVO has expanded and  developed to help all people with other health conditions and to also empower young people.

Our Mission

We focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community, our children and the elderly. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. We provide a range of services to ensure everyone benefits.

Activities and Events

Youth Group

IVO runs and supports a youth group involved in :

  • Running a dance and drama group
  • Creating HIV/AIDS awareness among peers
  • Providing emotional support to their peers
  • Environmental walks 
  • Work placements 
  • Volunteering
  • Music / sound productions 
  • Trips


Elderly

We provide a range of services for the elderly including: 

  • Volunteer home visits
  • Social evenings specifically for the el
  • Support filling online forms

HIV / AIDS support

In particular , IVO hold support groups which entail:

  • Creating awarness 
  • Peer support 
  • Talking therapy
  • Group sharing of issues affecting the community 


In order to create awareness and reduce further spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases , we engage in a number of activities :

  • Distributing free condoms and HIV information leaflets 
  • Organising community events to raise HIV/AIDS awareness 
  • Organising training and workshops on HIV/AIDS awareness

Women only social evenings

These nights include pastimes such as :

  • Music and dance 
  • Story telling 
  • Exploring issues affecting women 
  • Volunteeing opportuintes
  • Help with personal issues

Men support group

Despite society pushing this idea that men should not cry and telling men to toughen up instead to allow men to feel and understand their emotions. We here at IVO know that men's mental health matters which is why we have created a support group. This group includes :

  • Social evenings 
  • Talk therapy 
  • Story telling 
  • Exploring issues affecting men 
  • Volunteering opportunities 


Other projects

Here at IVO we partake in many more projects such as:

  • Events with live music and bands 
  • Sharing food 
  • Enabling a diverse community to come together


Hall for hire

While we aim to use our hall at all times , we hire our hall to support running costs and activities for the charity. It is a warm space , available for any type of event such as birthday parties, baby showers, seminars/workshops, funeral gatherings etc. If you have any enquires please fill out the form below.
